he story started over 50 years ago.

ADMR was born in 1945 in rural areas.

The goal was double:
- Help those in need in their everyday life
- Create employments in the community for others to live on

It is the beginning of a long story all over the country. The important dates:

1945
July: the first association of home assistance in a rural area is born in Communay (Rhône which was then Isère) owing to François Romatif and Marie Godinot.

1965
The first household assistants for the elderly are hired. This is the beginning of the diversification of the services.

1976
Aide à Domicile en Milieu Rural (home assistance in rural areas) becomes ADMR.

1980
The first SIAD is open (service de soins infirmiers à domicile - home nurse care services)

1981
Founding of the home life assistance for the elderly and/or the disabled.

1988
Home assistance becomes an official occupation with the founding of CAFAD (certificat d'aptitude aux fonctions d'aide à domicile which is a training certificate ).

Today more than ever, the local ADMR carries on with the 2 main goals:

• Help all the families and persons who live in the rural districts where ADMR works.
• Promote the creation of social ties, participate in running local activities, and create jobs.

Home assistance associations in rural areas are local mutual aid and solidarity groups. Their work is to offer home support to the people they help.

Voluntary workers, elderly and professionals are the golden triangle of the ADMR
